This entry-level role involves collaborating with senior engineers to create and maintain system models, document architectures, and ensure traceability of requirements, while also contributing to the transition from traditional document-based engineering to digital engineering approaches.
- Assist in applying MBSE methodologies to develop and manage complex systems throughout their lifecycle, focusing on requirements analysis, system design, integration, and verification using modeling tools like SysML and MBSE-specific software.
- Assist in the analysis, definition, and management of system requirements, often translating them into formal representations within MBSE models
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of system models using MBSE tools like SysML, which represent system architecture, behavior, and interfaces
- Work with cross-functional teams, including other engineers and stakeholders, to gather requirements, develop designs, and ensure effective communication of technical information
- Support the integration of system elements and assist in the planning and execution of verification and validation activities to ensure system requirements are met
- Gain proficiency in using MBSE tools and languages such as SysML, and potentially scripting for automation
- Assist in the transition from traditional document-centric engineering to model-based approaches, including developing and implementing MBSE methodologies
Basic Requirements
- Must have at least 1 year of general (full-time) work experience
- Must be able to maintain a restricted badge and work on site 4 days per week
- Must have experience or familiarity with MBSE concepts and tools, particularly SysML
- Must have experience in systems engineering
- Must have, or obtain withing 3 months of start date, a current IAT Level II Certification (Security CE)
- Must have, or be able to obtain, an active DoD Secret Clearance
- Have a familiarity with systems engineering principles, requirements analysis, functional analysis, and systems integration
- Have a familiarity with the MDA and MDS programs
