Ready to build the foundation of your software engineering career in a growth-focused program? Amazon is looking for highly motivated students to join the Jr. Developer Program (JDP). As a Jr. Software Development Engineer (Jr. SDE), you will write real software and collaborate with experienced engineers who provide guidance and opportunities for ownership. As a year-round intern, you will be fully integrated into a team and regularly contribute to impactful deliverables. Your designs and code will help solve complex technical challenges at Amazon.
The JDP is a year-round internship program designed to support a strong balance between work and school. You will receive 1:1 mentorship from a full-time Amazonian for the entirety of your program tenure. Flexible part-time schedules during the school year and full-time employment over the summer create an environment where students can succeed both academically and professionally. In Austin, an established Jr. community fosters meaningful connections between you and your peers.
Our team is currently looking for students to start with our May 2026 cohort. Upon successful completion of the program, the opportunity for full-time employment may be available at an Amazon corporate site.

Program Highlights
- Part-time work during the school year (16 hours/week)
- Full-time work during the summer (40 hours/week)
- 1:1 mentoring with an experienced Amazonian
- Bi-annual performance reviews designed to support ongoing growth and development
- Graduating June 2028 and beyond.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university Bachelor's or Master's degree program.
- Ability to work in person year-round at the Tempe corporate office. (This role is not offered remote or hybrid and all working hours must be in office).
- Majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM field.
- Able to start work in May 2026.
- Must be living within commutable distance to Austin, TX.
- Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Python, or C including object-oriented design.
- Ability to solve complex problems and work through ambiguity.
- Previous technical internship(s), if applicable.
- Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
