Position Summary

This entry-level position assists in providing manufacturing engineering support, focusing on methods improvements, setup reduction, throughput analysis, troubleshooting of production problems, process improvement programs and project management.

Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

This role allows a Junior engineer to learn and train in the duties of manufacturing engineering to be able to perform these duties:

• Assisting in the:
• development of action plans to implement process improvement projects
• evaluation and development of action plans to reduce product cycle time
• evaluation and implementation of projects to provide a balanced line to improve equipment utilization
• Providing engineering support for:
• the implementation of new processes
• teams whose goal is process improvement
• synchronous flow of product and raw materials
• implementation of cost reductions
• reduce Work In Process/finished goods inventory
• determining root causes concerning quality problems
• and input to PFMEA process
• manufacturing operations to reduce scrap
• manufacturing operations to identify and resolve system constraints
• Assisting in:
• identification and elimination of non-value-added processes in product flow
• work with secondary operations for engineering needs
• performing time studies or methods analyses as needed
• Ensures compliance with established document control procedures.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  
  

Qualifications-Education/Experience

Required:

• Mechanical Engineering degree
• Strong mechanical aptitude (hands-on applications)
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar software
• Perform basic shop math and print reading
• Ability to learn and develop engineering skills
• Proficient communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both with teams and independently
