The Information Technology (IT) Intern will provide direct technical assistance and support to Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) team members for network, hardware, data, cyber security, software and/or clinical informatics projects. Duties will be primarily project based with varying responsibilities based on the primary team to which an Intern is assigned. Primary areas of opportunity include application & integration, business analysis, infrastructure, cyber security, compliance, and support. At Hackensack Meridian Health, the DTS Clinical Informatics team is seeking a motivated intern to help us maximize the value of our electronic health record (EHR). This internship offers a hybrid experience, combining remote work with time at our corporate office. You will be immersed in Epic's Gold Stars program, a framework for ensuring we are using our EHR technology to its fullest potential to improve clinical workflows, financial outcomes, and patient care. You will be partnered with our Clinical Informatics team to analyze our current feature adoption, support the implementation of new functionalities, and help communicate the value of these changes to our clinical and operational partners. At the end of your internship, you will present your project's impact and your strategic recommendations to DTS leadership.

Education, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
- Pursuit of a degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, cyber security, advanced mathematics, data science, advanced analytics, clinical informatics or program management.
- Current GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Satisfactory customer service skills.
- Basic troubleshooting skills.
- Minimum of 2 years of college or trade school education.
- Minimum of 3 months of IT experience or equivalent formal training with a letter of reference from a previous employer or professor.
- Technical Certifications and Project Management Certifications helpful but not required.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Solid troubleshooting skills.
- Awareness of the Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) industrys current and emerging technology trends and direction, as well as a keen interest in information systems and technology.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner, with guidance from the assigned project leader and internship program coordinator for support.
- Google, Citrix, ITIL, Project Management Professional (PMP), Scrum Master, and/or Clinical Informatics certifications.
