Brief Position Summary
MSC's internship program is a rewarding and challenging development program for talented, high performing students. Interns are assigned to a functional area for a 10-week assignment. Each assignment will offer the opportunity for the students to work on defined projects, develop leadership skills and interact with associates across all levels of the organization.
The Investor Relations Team is responsible for informing and educating the external markets on MSC's strategy and financial results. Including, facilitating quarterly earnings calls, participating in investor meetings, working with sell-side analysts, and responding to investor inquiries. Candidates will gain significant exposure to MSC's businesses and develop an understanding on how financial results and messaging are communicated externally. The candidate for this role will work particularly close with the VP of Investor Relations & Business Development and MSC's C-suite and have exposure to institutional investors and hedge funds on Wall Street.
" Support quarterly earnings call readiness through presentation design and script reviews.
" Designing and preparing competitor earnings reports, including quarterly reviews.
" Conduct business and financial analysis to identify how Wall Street will view quarterly results
" Collaborates with finance team associates to assist in Q&A prep for MSC C-suite.
" Provide business assistance to various groups within the Finance group where requested.
" Plan, execute, and complete special projects as assigned.
" Develops skills needed for a career in investor relations and equity research.
" Supports assigned manager with project work.
" Presents intern project results to business leaders.
" Learns & fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
" Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required
Qualifications
What You Need:
" High School diploma required.
" Must be pursuing a finance degree at an accredited college or university.
" Excellent academic record.
" Computer literacy and proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software is required.
" Excellent analytical skills and strong financial acumen are required.
" Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management is required.
" Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
" Excellent time management and organizational skills required.
" Positive, high-energy approach to assignments and a willingness to learn quickly required.
Other Requirements
" A valid driver's license may be required.
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
