What You'll Do
Legal Responsibilities
- Assist with case discussions, analysis, and team meetings.
- Stay current on immigration regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct legal research as needed.
- Prepare and manage case forms using INS Zoom.
- Draft motions, pleadings, and template orders for attorney review.
- Organize and analyze documents; prepare exhibit lists and supporting documentation.
- Assemble case files using Adobe Acrobat DC.
- Draft correspondence, cover letters, and client communications.
- Communicate with government agencies on case-specific inquiries.
- Maintain accurate case updates and deadlines in the case management system.
- Prepare outgoing filings and deliveries to government agencies.
- Pursue ongoing professional development through webinars and conferences.
- Create USPS/FedEx labels and manage mailings.
- Maintain organized electronic client files and update templates.
- Record detailed notes in the case management system.
- Assist with tracking client payment deadlines.
Skills And Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years as a paralegal or legal assistant.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading ability.
- Proficient in Clio, INS Zoom, Adobe, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with e-filing systems (MDEC, PACER, ECAS, USCIS).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Professional demeanor and client-focused approach.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Confidentiality: This role involves handling highly sensitive client and company information.
- Work Environment: Hybrid schedule (3 days in-office, 2 days remote).
