The General Ledger (GL) Accountant is responsible for maintaining the financial health and accuracy of SCIEX's records against tight deadlines, especially during closing periods. This role is dynamic and involves a mix of routine and more complex financial analysis. The incumbent will have the opportunity to collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial records and provide accounting support. The GL Accountant will also be involved in process improvement by developing and implementing accounting procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
This position reports to the Accounting Manager and is part of the Finance & Accounting Team l ocated in Redwood City, California, and will be an on-site role.

The salary range for this role is $95,667 - $105,250 USD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To
- Review and reconcile accounts to ensure they are accurate and compliant.
- Accurately enter financial transactions into the general ledger and prepare financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements.
- Manage the closing processes for the general ledger, ensuring all entries are complete and accurate.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and implementing recommendations.
- Ensure all financial records co mply with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting , Finance, or a related field with 2 years OR Master's degree with 0 years.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Multiple years of experience in accounting or finance
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office products - especially Excel
- CPA/CMA strongly preferred.
- A nalyzing financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and provide insights for decision-making.
- Using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system such as Oracle
