GIS Analyst
Full-Time in Mountain View, CA - Mid Level
Genex Systems is seeking an experienced GIS Analyst to join our team onsite at Ames Research Center! The individual should be well-organized and self-directed, fluent in ArcGIS Pro, and familiar with the full ESRI suite. We are looking for someone who enjoys tackling problems, is interested in learning new things, and who wants to grow with an expanding team.
Role Responsibilities
- Provides support and technical expertise in the use of GIS and integration with complementary business processes and systems.
- Collects functional requirements, analyzes, and documents business workflows and designs/creates GIS processes, tools and products to support business needs.
- Creates GIS databases and end user support; creates documentation on data and workflows; conducts testing of GIS applications and performs QA/QC on data, processes, and workflows.
- Work with field surveyors and external parties to transform data for addition to the GIS, manage, update, maintain, QA/QC attribute and metadata within the Enterprise Ecosystem.
- Engage in outreach activities such as presentations to Communities of Practice, booth manning at events, 1:1 training for end users, and development of training materials.
- Support SDSFIE data standardization efforts.
- 3-6 years of experience as a GIS technician, specialist, or analyst
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, or other similar subject. May substitute experience for degree.
- Proficient with ESRI GIS Software Suite, including low/ no-code applications and instant apps.
- Experience working on collaborative projects in a remote environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work on multiple concurrent development projects.
- Experience with Agile development practices and Scrum methodology, AutoCAD, Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
