We are hiring an entry level engineer for a Construction Engineer position in Newport News, VA. If you're interested in construction, facilities, foundations, etc. then this is that type of opportunity.
Description
- This position manages the construction of electrical, mechanical and structural work/systems associated with utility infrastructure, building and waterfront construction projects.
- Position is responsible for performing contractor management, troubleshooting design or construction conflicts and provides solutions, performs project specific safety assessments/audits, quality control and quality inspection to design standards, preparation of startup and commissioning documents including checklists, operating procedures, and training for all assigned work.
- Conducts construction surveillance to ensure adherence to contractual requirements. Investigates problems incurred during testing and operations, resolves problems and directs re-tests to ensure the satisfactory performance of the system.
- Position also involves close coordination and management of multiple construction projects with multiple stakeholders, customers, maintenance, and operations personnel.
- BS in Engineering.
- OSHA exposure/experience.
- Any large industrial facility experience would be a plus.
- Communication.
- Willingness to learn new things.
- U-S Citizenship required.
- Pay Rate: $35-$40/hr.
