This position presents the exciting professional opportunity for you to use your talents and energy to conduct a variety of testing, repair, installation and maintenance task on electronic equipment for our bus team. The electronic equipment includes fare collection, destination sign, Smartbus and video surveillance systems.
Main Functions
- Troubleshoots and repairs electronic equipment either on site or in Electronic Shop.
- Bench troubleshoots defective microprocessor based equipment to identify problem components and makes necessary repairs. This entails repairing through hole and surface mounting printed circuit board.
- Tests and troubleshoots fare collection, destination sign, smartbus and video surveillance systems.
- Ensures spare equipment availability for use at the garages.
- Test radio, fare collection, destination sign, smartbus and video surveillance systems to ensure proper operation.
- Installs fare collection, destination sign, smartbus and video surveillance systems into buses.
- Operates motor vehicle to drive to remote locations to perform task.
- Degree or certificate in electronics or related field.
- Experience in electronics, troubleshoot and repair PCB at component level required.
- Usage of hand tools, possess a valid non-provisionary motor vehicle license to operate a NJT vehicle, troubleshooting problems, reading schematics required.
- Able to solve problems, communicate in written form and orally, as well as following instructions.
