Description: Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Summer 2026 Intern Electrical Engineer (Electronics). In this role, you will support the design, testing, and integration of electronic hardware systems in support of defense and aerospace programs. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assist in circuit analysis, board-level design, and prototype development.
The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout, and hardware testing tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college/university.
Basic understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles.
Familiarity with electronic lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
Experience with or exposure to PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, Eagle, or similar).
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Desired Skills
Experience with soldering, breadboarding, and hands-on prototyping of electronic circuits.
Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontroller programming (e.g., Arduino, STM32, or similar).
Understanding of signal integrity, power distribution, and EMI/EMC considerations in circuit design.
Experience with SPICE simulation tools (e.g., LTspice, PSpice).
Exposure to FPGA design and HDL languages (e.g., VHDL, Verilog).
Experience with automated test systems or scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW).
Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting techniques and root cause analysis.
Strong interest in defense, aerospace, or mission-critical systems.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, datasheets, and technical documentation.
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
