The Jacobs Virginia Transportation team is searching for a motivated Drainage Design Engineer who can utilize their technical and design skills to deliver roadway-related infrastructure projects. This opportunity is your chance to work on multi-disciplined transportation projects that focus on highway, roadway, and interchange projects.
In this role you will provide drainage design for roadway and highway projects throughout Virginia. Work at this level requires the ability to work in a team, collaborate, and keep pace with a fast-paced environment. Typical work assignments may include storm drainage analysis and design, cross drainage design, erosion and sediment control, temporary drainage, quantity and cost estimates, preparation of technical reports and memorandum, and preparation of construction plans, estimates, and specifications as required.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering;
- Previous experience working on transportation projects with focus on drainage design;
- Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate all drainage design phases of a project with other team disciplines;
- Previous experience utilizing Bentley OpenRoads Drainage and Hydraulic Modeling software;
- Previous experience created technical documentation, reports, and/or memorandum.
- Master’s degree in civil engineering;
- Registration as Professional Engineer (PE) or able to obtain within 1 year;
- Previous experience with PS&E, schematic and alternative delivery (i.e. Design-Build and PPP) transportation projects is a plus;
- Experience in utilizing Bentley Geopak Drainage, StormCAD, CivilStorm, and other modeling software is a plus.
