We are seeking a highly skilled Drafter to support transmission line projects. This role involves preparing and revising technical drawings using client-approved standards and templates, ensuring compliance with all applicable drafting and safety requirements. The ideal candidate will have advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation, strong attention to detail, and experience working within utility design standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and Revise Drawings: Create and update transmission line drawings using client-approved title blocks and templates
- New Drawings: Focus on new drawings—execute engineer directives.
- Drafting Platforms: Utilize AutoCAD and MicroStation for all drafting tasks
- Standards Compliance: Ensure adherence to clients CADD standards for orientation, line weights, text sizes, dimensions, scales, and references
- Drawing Types: Apply correct drawing types as listed in Appendix A
- Title Block Requirements: Incorporate revision history, “Who to Call” stamps, and other required information per client standards
- Estimating: Provide detailed time-and-material (T&M) estimates for tasks and deliverables, subject to client review.
- File Access: Access PG&E network resources for templates and seed files
- Review Process: Submit all drawings for client review and approval prior to finalization.
- Safety Compliance: Follow client safety policies and integrate safety considerations into all drawings.
- Timeline Management: Meet approved deliverable timelines and promptly communicate any changes.
- Records Governance: Maintain compliance with client’s Information & Records Governance Policy
Skills And Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years drafting experience, preferably in transmission or utility projects.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Structural background strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of PG&E drafting standards and CADD requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to provide accurate time estimates and manage multiple deliverables
- Strong communication skills for coordination with internal teams and PG&E reviewers.
- Familiarity with PG&E standards TD-1330M-01 and TD-1330M-02.
- Experience working on transmission line projects for utilities.
