The Director of Event and Student Engagement oversee all aspects of student, alumni, faculty & staff engagement planning meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars, lectures, and other special events for the assigned department(s). Furthermore, the Director of Event and Student Engagement assume responsibility for ensuring all amenities and accommodations at the event are adequate and create a sense of be. She/He will work with Communications Director, Sr. Business Officer and Advancement Officer in developing engagement activities for prospective, current and alumni students.

Core Job Functions
- Work SONHS Leadership Team to develop strategies for student engagement activities for Nursing, Health Studies and Public Health disciplines. 2. Represent the SONSH in functions and provides recommendations to upper management regarding vendor, venue, and food services. This includes research activities on grants, project, etc.3. Ensures that events proceed as scheduled and do not conflict with other activities.4. Acts as liaison to vendors and external entities.5. Supervises registration and check in at events.6. Assists with the design of collateral marketing materials and mailing for event maintains email distribution lists for electronic newsletters, manages the email account, on-site troubleshooting at events. 7. Collects content and assists Communications Director, Sr. Business Officer and Advancement Officer designing and developing events, developing invitations, proofreading large amounts of data for accuracy, flow, and grammar.8. Maintains and uploads data into various programs that are used for event purposes which require data manipulation (Cvent, Marching Order, Qualtrics, Ticket Master, Regalia Manager, etc.).9. Maintains school website by updating content each semester with relevant information that includes commencement dates and student deadlines.10. Manages and monitors departmental social media initiatives via Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.11. Responsible for end of the year ceremonies, this includes work with Associate Deans to secure student speakers for graduation ceremonies and support students with their presentation.12. Work with the Daisy Foundation in the submissions of student and faculty awards13. Responsible for organizing the “white coat” ceremonies, this includes develop invitations, select venue and follow up with any questions students and parents will have regarding the event.14. Organize semester students’ events to engage students in school activities. As well as direct all homecoming activities. 15. Guarantees that activities and costs remain within set budgetary constraints. Processes purchase orders, expense reimbursements and ensures vendors are paid in a timely manner.16. Work with faculty advisors in coordinating student association, the school has 4 different student associations. 17. Plan events during the Hispanic Heritage and Blach History months. 18. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
