This newly created S&S Publisher Services role will be responsible for supporting new and established relationships with independent publishers from a range of categories and emerging verticals. The Director/Senior Director will also oversee and develop new tools, reports, and other offerings or services to support unique sales and distribution needs within these emerging verticals. They will be instrumental in identifying and developing new client partnerships as well as expanding existing ones. This role will be an integral part of the Publisher Services Division and work closely with division leadership, sales, operations, finance, customer service, and warehouse teams to grow distribution revenues, improve efficiencies, and support a growing roster of client publishers across all categories.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. Responsibilities
- Drive new business development for S&S Publisher Services in key growth verticals. Business development efforts could include attending industry events, conventions and conferences, and meeting with prospective or existing clients in person on a regular basis.
- Develop a strong knowledge of consumer and industry trends, as well as market and economic factors that impact client business.
- Collaborate and coordinate with all internal departments in support of publisher's daily needs, including but not limited to sales, warehouse teams, production, finance, and operations.
- Manage at least one Client Manager, with responsibility for all clients on their roster.
- Provide strategic guidance to directly managed or indirectly managed clients on market trends, publishing best practices, B2B and B2C marketing opportunities, supply chain management, and other operationally critical elements of the publishing process.
- Host sales development and channel specific strategic meetings on behalf of clients.
- Provide detailed publisher, category, and title specific sales and market analysis as needed.
- Minimum 7-10 years' experience in client management, or sales and marketing, in the book publishing industry.
- Must have exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills and the ability to translate ideas into clear, high-impact communications.

- A passion for and or experience in books is strongly preferred.
