Summary
As Director of Sanctions Compliance in the Meta FinTech Compliance Team (MFTC) you will lead a team of compliance professionals and contingent workers. You will be driving forward large-scale initiatives designed to mature and enhance the sanctions compliance program. You will interact with both internal and cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities to enhance and streamline the program based on emerging risks. You will work collaboratively with a group of cross-functional leaders, including but not limited to Legal, Product, Engineering, Data Science, Finance and Marketing. You will help Meta FinTech to ensure that its compliance policies, internal controls and systems meet regulatory and partner expectations, and achieve its mission to "make the world more open and connected." You will support Meta Payments, Inc. to meet its various regulatory and statutory requirements.Meta FinTech is a horizontal product group in Meta. Meta Payments Inc. Required Skills
Director, Global Head of Sanctions Compliance Responsibilities:
- Responsible for administering, maintaining, coordinating and monitoring MFT’s day-to-day compliance with sanctions related laws, regulations, policies, programs, initiatives, rules and reporting requirements.
- Responsible for managing, administering, and enhancing all aspects of the sanctions compliance monitoring systems, including making sure that appropriate parameters are in place to optimally identify sanctioned activity. Monitoring systems include both system reporting and automated account monitoring software.
- Ensure that all required regulatory reporting is conducted in a timely, accurate, complete and compliant manner.
- Maintain an effective sanctions compliance program to include initial and ongoing assessments, and review and analysis of potential activity by sanctioned actors.
- Act as a liaison for State examinations and internal and external independent audits of MFT’s and MPY’s sanctions/OFAC compliance programs.
- Responsible for responding to exam and audit findings, and overseeing the corrective action of any related compliance deficiencies or violations.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating the sanctions-related policies and procedures and seeking approval from MPY’s Board of Directors where relevant.
- Support sanctions risk assessments conducted annually or as needed with consideration to products, services, customers, and geographies that may present sanctions related risk, and collect and report annually.
- Performs various other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10 years experience in financial services/fintech and at least five years in a sanctions management role with experience in financial institution or intermediary. Examples of financial institutions or intermediaries could include consumer/commercial/investment banks, fintech companies, payment networks, merchant acquirers, or payment facilitators
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree and/or Juris Doctor
- Knowledge of sanctions related requirements and regulations
- Team leadership experience
- Experience multi-tasking, prioritizing and working efficiently
- Excellent communication skills with all staffing levels and a broad constituency of cross-functional partners
- Demonstrated experience to work adeptly with all levels of management
- Handle confidential information appropriately
- Experience working independently, self-starter
