DIRECTOR, CAMPAIGN AND ENGAGEMENT EVENTS, MIT Sloan Office of External Relations, leads the strategic planning and execution of 25 annual events, including Reunion Weekend and all campaign-related experiences, to foster alumni engagement and philanthropic support. This role designs innovative programming aligned with MIT Sloan's priorities; collaborates with faculty and senior leadership; and manages event logistics, budgets, and vendor relationships. The Director leads campaign-related events from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with broader fundraising and engagement goals. They supervise two associate directors and guide a high-performing team in delivering impactful events. They also partner with MIT's Resource Development and Alumni Association to coordinate school and Institute-wide engagement efforts. As a key member of the Office of External Relations leadership team, the Director drives event strategy, innovation, and operational excellence.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of experience in event management, preferably within nonprofit or higher education settings; demonstrated strong project management, strategic thinking, and analytical skills, along with exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities; experience working with senior leadership, faculty, donors, and external vendors; proficiency in platforms such as Cvent, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Microsoft Office suite; high level of professionalism, initiative, and collaboration; and strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. PREFERRED: Experience engaging mid-career alumni and two years of supervisory experience ideally leading an event production team.
Some evening, weekend, and travel commitments are required.
