Summary
Meta is seeking an experienced, strategic, and collaborative Director & Associate General Counsel to join Security Legal and Outreach. This leader will provide expert legal guidance on complex, high-impact matters, drive cross-functional initiatives, shaping Meta's global legal strategy in child safety, partnering closely with Legal, Policy, Comms, and Product stakeholders. Required Skills
Director & Associate General Counsel Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of attorneys and/or legal professionals supporting Meta's child safety initiatives, law enforcement engagement, and NCMEC reporting.
- Advise senior leadership and cross-functional partners on legal risks, regulatory issues, and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and implement legal strategies to address emerging risks and opportunities.
- Oversee complex transactions, regulatory matters, and/or litigation as relevant to the team's scope.
- Represent Meta in external engagements with regulators, partners, and other stakeholders, particularly law enforcement partners.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and compliance within the legal team and across the company.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree and admission to practice law in relevant jurisdiction
- 12 years of legal experience, including significant in-house or law firm experience in child safety
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing legal teams and/or large-scale projects
- Expertise in [focus area, e.g., privacy, product, security, regulatory, litigation, etc.]
- Excellent judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as Associate General Counsel or equivalent at a major technology company
- Experience working with global regulators and cross-border legal issues
- Track record of building and scaling legal teams
- Strong business acumen and ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Previous experience as a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Department of Justice, or similar
