Job Description Assembly General Laborer
We are seeking mechanically inclined individuals to join our team at a data center in Altoona, IA. As a technician, you will work with blueprints and use hand and power tools to assemble and mount trays, server racks, and pull fiber optic cable. You will perform various tasks, including scanning inventory, unpacking materials, building server racks, installing servers and switches, and running cable. Training will be provided. This position is entry-level, offering a great opportunity to enter the data center industry.

Work Environment
This is a fully on-site position in Altoona, Iowa, performed on an active construction site. The job requires adherence to safety protocols and the wearing of PPE, including steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves. The schedule consists of five 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, 7am to 5:30pm, with occasional Saturdays if needed. The environment is an assembly line atmosphere for the build-out of server racks.

- Scan inventory and unpack boxes of materials.
- Break down shipping materials and build server racks.
- Install servers and switches, and run cable.
- Experience on construction sites.
- Mechanical aptitude with 6 months to 1 year of experience.
- Ability to follow blueprints.
- Ability to work in a team and attention to detail.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments.
- Experience in structured cabling or construction from any trade.
- Self-motivated and positive approach.
- Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project documents.
- Capability to see and distinguish different colors and hear audible signals.
- Willingness to travel within regional territory.
