We are seeking a skilled Construction Materials Testing Technician to perform vital tests and observations on construction materials, such as soils, concrete, and asphalt, for various projects. This role involves preparing comprehensive daily reports, conducting laboratory tests, and assessing soil conditions at construction sites. The technician will engage with clients, contractors, and technical staff to address construction-related issues and ensure compliance with approved documentation.
Responsibilities
The position is based at the Auburn Hills office, where there are 60-70 employees, primarily in engineering roles. This is a full-time role, with workdays from Monday to Friday. Shifts are typically 8 or 10 hours, starting at either 7 a.m. or 8 a.m., with overtime and weekends required as needed.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.

Responsibilities
- Conduct observations, measurements, and tests on soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
- Prepare comprehensive daily field reports, including all relevant test results and observations.
- Perform fundamental laboratory tests on soil and concrete and compile reports of findings.
- Assess soil conditions at construction sites and offer recommendations based on evaluations.
- Engage with clients, contractors, and engineering staff to address construction-related issues.
- Ensure project compliance with approved construction documentation.
- Maintain effective communication with project managers, contractors, and owners throughout the project.
- Conduct maintenance, calibration, and verification of laboratory testing equipment.
- Process and analyze lab data, perform calculations, and conduct tests adhering to applicable standards.
- Comply with safety protocols and procedures.
- 5 or more years of experience performing field or laboratory testing.
- Concrete testing experience.
- General knowledge of math and science.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- High School diploma or equivalent highly preferred.
- MCA or ACI certifications.
- MUST Training.
- Ability to read blueprints.
