What's the Job?
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using COBOL and SAS within a z/OS mainframe environment.
- Write and optimize JCL scripts for batch processing and job scheduling.
- Develop and maintain DB2 data structures, SQL queries, and data access logic to support business needs.
- Analyze and resolve production issues, including abends and performance bottlenecks, ensuring system stability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems and support system upgrades and migrations.
- 8 years of experience in COBOL and SAS programming.
- 5 years of hands-on experience with DB2 in a mainframe environment.
- Strong knowledge of JCL, IBM utilities, and REXDB2 utilities (e.g., LOAD, UNLOAD, REORG).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience with debugging tools such as Xpediter and Abend-AID, and source control systems like ISPW.
