Overview

We are seeking a Clinical Lab oratory Scientist I , also referred to as a Medical Technologist (Med Tech) or Medical Laboratory Technologist I . The Clinical Lab Scientist I (CLS I) requires a blend of technical expertise , analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. They play a n important role in the diagnostic process, contributing significantly to patient care and treatment. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/ PRN as needed .

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• P erform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in the diagnosis of diseases and conditions, this may include routine tests as well as specialized tests
• I nterpret lab test results and identify any abnormalities, ensure the accuracy and reliability of these results to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient care
• I mplement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards in laboratory testing, you may also calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
• K eep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results, input data into our laboratory information systems
• E nsure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements
  
  

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• ASCP certification, or equivalent, required within 1 year of employment.
• One year hospital laboratory work experience preferred, but not required.
• Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489).
• Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.
