Pay: $21 to $23/hr

Pay: $21 to $23/hr
Responsibilities Include
- Verify eligibility of providers and members for all authorization requests.
- Input and prepare Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorder authorizations across all lines of business, assigning cases to the appropriate Clinical Coordinator.
- Refer members to the Care Coordination Department when completing discharge documentation to support aftercare planning.
- Notify providers of authorization determinations and coordinate peer-to-peer consultations when cases do not meet criteria.
- Draft denial letters outlining decisions, rationale, and alternative treatment options.
- Assist callers routed to the Behavioral Health Utilization Management department and resolve escalated inquiries.
- Complete required trainings on MCG, ASAM, and InterQual criteria to ensure compliance with NCQA audit requirements.
- Update and maintain job aids; correct errors found in internal reports.
- Perform all duties safely and professionally; other duties assigned as needed.
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher).
- 2 years of experience analyzing and resolving customer problems.
- 2 years of experience in the healthcare industry.
- 2 years of experience with medical or behavioral health terminology.
- Intermediate computer proficiency, including electronic clinical records, email, calendaring, and data entry.
- Ability to work a Mountain Time Zone schedule.
