Your Key Responsibilities
As a buyer your responsibilities may include:
- Development and implementation of a regional purchasing strategy in the assigned categories in alignment with the relevant specialist areas and contact partners.
- Regional responsibility for the costs of assigned category/categories.
- Planning and tracking of budgetary prerequisites.
- Analysis of the respective purchasing volume.
- Generation of procurement strategies and market intelligence.
- Identification, initiation, and promotion of potential savings and improvements (i.e. specification, make-or-buy, cost value analyses).
- Monitoring of project implementation and initiation of countermeasures if the project target is at risk.
- Risk management and task force/troubleshooting with regards to quality/delivery issues for all relevant suppliers assigned.
- Pricing, conditions, and contract negotiations as well as leading RFQs for relevant suppliers.
- Initiation and implementation of the supplier selection and supplier approval process, in accordance with the category-specific requirements.
- Active management of the supplier portfolio (ensuring the correct supplier assignment, classification, assessment, and development) & volatile supply-critical materials.
- Regular coordination with the relevant specialist departments and the regional/local key stakeholders to assure and increase customer satisfaction.
- Ensure suitable purchasing processes and tools are in place and followed.
- Participation in shaping the process landscape in Purchasing, as well as the initiation and support of continuous improvement measures.
- Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering or equivalent related field.
- 2 years of Purchasing (or other relevant) experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with purchasing and negotiations & working in cross-functional teams.
- Experience in engineering technologies (Automation, Assembly Integration, Machines & Test Equipment).
- Capable of managing complex projects under pressure, while meeting due dates, & targets.
- Willingness to travel 15% of the time.
