Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AI Data Scientist II to join our innovative Fusion Team at AbbVie Pharmaceuticals. This position is an opportunity for an early career candidate to join a team and work at the intersection of machine learning and artificial intelligence within the Global Therapeutics space at AbbVie. In this role, you will leverage cutting-edge AI technologies to transform our clinical data operations and drive pharmaceutical innovation. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with clinical science knowledge to develop solutions that accelerate drug discovery and improve patient outcomes.

This role will work collaboratively with technology and business groups to perform analyses and implement technologies to deliver precise, reliable, and reproducible solutions in a timely manner, under the direction of a more senior leader. Also, this role will need to demonstrate technical precision and strong data science skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-driven solutions to solve complex clinical and pharmaceutical challenges
• Develop and maintain backend systems using FastAPI for robust data processing pipelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical scientists, IT, and business stakeholders
• Lead multiple concurrent projects while maintaining exceptional quality standards
• Translate complex technical concepts into accessible insights for non-technical stakeholders
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies and methodologies relevant to pharmaceutical research
• Independently design and develop business technology solutions to answer scientific or business questions through integration, visualization, and analysis of data. Demonstrate proficiency across a range of technologies related to storage, transfer, integration, visualization, and analysis of large and complex data sets.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare business, and utilize this knowledge in the rapid advancement of agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutions
• Effectively organize and present project objectives and progress. Contribute to technical publications and presentations
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field
• Demonstrated experience applying AI/ML in clinical or pharmaceutical contexts
• Hands-on experience using large language models and machine learning algorithms
• Strong programming skills in Python with emphasis on data science libraries
• Backend development experience using FastAPI
• Experience building applications on AWS infrastructure
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Salary: $58,656 - $100,500
