About The Role
The High Throughput Analytics Operations (HTAO) team within Analytical Development is seeking an Analytical Scientist to support routine, automated testing of gene therapy research and development samples. This position plays a key role in the development and characterization of recombinant Adeno-Associated Virus (rAAV) vectors used in gene therapy programs. The role requires strong technical execution, excellent documentation practices, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative laboratory environment.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine testing of vectors and intermediates using cell-based potency assays, immunoassays (ELISA, Gyros), and molecular assays (qPCR, dPCR).
- Operate automated liquid handling platforms, including Tecan and Hamilton systems.
- Maintain and expand multiple mammalian cell lines using aseptic technique.
- Prepare, qualify, and manage reagents, buffers, and media for analytical workflows.
- Oversee sample inventory, reagent supplies, and participate in laboratory cleanouts.
- Support instrument maintenance, calibration, and verification activities.
- Document all experimental work in electronic laboratory notebooks and generate technical reports.
- Analyze data using software such as SoftMax Pro, GraphPad Prism, and internal analytical tools.
- Ensure full compliance with SOPs, quality standards, and laboratory safety procedures.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedicine, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant laboratory experience.
- Hands-on experience with aseptic technique and mammalian cell culture.
- Experience with automated liquid handling systems (Tecan Fluent, Hamilton STAR/Vantage).
- Experience with cell-based analytical methods and immunoassays.
- Strong understanding of cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, and analytical methods.
- Ability to learn new techniques and work independently once trained.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and record-keeping skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Comfortable working in a high-throughput, fast-paced laboratory setting.
- Commitment to research integrity, quality, and collaborative science.
- On-site presence required ~80% of the time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Willingness to work occasional weekends, holidays, or extended hours based on testing needs.
- PPE usage required per laboratory SOPs.
