The workspace is located in Boulder, CO, within a growing company that currently employs 21 individuals, including 5 chemists. The role operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. The work environment offers a startup feel, with an opportunity to truly own and shape the analytical lab.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.27/hr.

Job Title: Analytical Chemist
Job Description

Responsibilities
- Establish and execute method development on new and existing analytical methodologies using statistical analysis.
- Interpret data with limited guidance to guide experimental design and convert findings into technical documentation.
- Develop, troubleshoot, and perform routine chemical analyses and maintenance using HPLC-UV, GC-FID, pH titrations, DSC, Karl Fischer, and wet analytical chemistry techniques.
- Troubleshoot analytical equipment, address quality control failures, and conduct cleaning and maintenance.
- Communicate with laboratory management regarding workflow and priorities.
- Collaborate with teams to support R&D efforts and chemical production.
- Generate and certify Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
- Perform standard wet chemical techniques, including making stock and calibration solutions, using an analytical balance, running batch reactions, extractions, distillations, and titrating solutions.
- Follow standard operating procedures for the analysis and manipulation of toxic, flammable, or energetic substances.
- Maintain accurate records and laboratory cleanliness.
- Adhere to safety programs related to hazardous chemicals.
- Efficiently manage time and organization.
- Conduct validation, re-calibration, and method development.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with 3-8 years of relevant work experience or a Master's degree in Chemistry with 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
- Hands-on experience in a research laboratory or chemical production facility.
- Experience with organic synthesis.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required; ability to pass a background check.
- Statistical analysis and mathematical background.
- Flexibility to adapt to frequent changes in work tasks.
- Strong collaboration skills and confidence in presenting work and results.
- Experience from an R&D lab in a chemical production setting is advantageous.
- Pharmaceutical background in documentation and method validation is helpful.
- Beyond quality background, experience in research and development is beneficial.
