SUNY Upstate is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our new Behavioral and Mental Health Initiative providing support to our Pediatric and Adolescent Psych After Hours program at SUNY Upstate Nappi Wellness Institute.
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner providing medical management and psychotherapy services to a diverse and often at-risk patient population.

Minimum Qualifications
Prior experience in a Psychiatry setting and American Nurses Association Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner preferred.
Work Days
Evening, Nights, Weekend Shifts.
Position has both a Full-time and Part-time Opportunity.

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner providing medical management and psychotherapy services to a diverse and often at-risk patient population.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for patient registration and scheduling.
- Providing expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care.
- Assess, planning, prescribing and evaluation interventions, and arrange referrals, consultations, and therapeutic services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, referring physicians, and all members of the health care team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner in specialty area of Psychiatric
- Current NYS Licensure or Registration as a Psychiatric NP
- Current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice.
- Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire)
- AHA/ARC CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment and credentialing clearances.
Prior experience in a Psychiatry setting and American Nurses Association Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner preferred.
