The Town of Lenox seeks a qualified individual for the position of Financial Assistant. The disbursement coordinator supports the overall operations of the Finance Department which consists of the Treasurer/Collector and Town Accountant by coordinating the Town’s payroll, benefits deductions and accounts payable functions. This is full-time, benefitted position with a salary range of $58,000 - $63,000/year.
This position works within the Treasurer/Collector’s Office and works collaboratively with Human Resources and Department Heads to ensure all payroll, benefits deductions and accounts payable disbursements are timely and accurate. Work is performed in an open, shared office setting with constant foot traffic and interruptions throughout the day. Has daily contact with Town staff and the public requiring courtesy, patience and tact. Must exercise diligence and attention to detail while carrying out functions of considerable importance and in responding to inquiries.
Lenox is located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. The year-round population of 5,025 is buttressed by a substantial number of weekend/seasonal residents and visitors, particularly in July and August. Widely known for its numerous cultural and recreational sites (notably Tanglewood, Shakespeare & Company, Kennedy Park, Mass Audubon/Pleasant Valley), Lenox is also home to vibrant, deep-rooted communities in villages located in its downtown, Lenox Dale, New Lenox as well as many smaller neighborhoods.
