Teacher Assistant - AVID (2 Positions) **MUST BE ENROLLED IN COLLEGE AT THE TIME OF HIRE

SUMMARY: Works directly with assigned classroom teachers (AVID teacher) to tutor students & facilitate a collaborative setting. QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or GED required • Possess at least 48 semester units of university coursework • Have a passing score of 70% on the District academic proficiency test • Must be currently enrolled college student with strong math and/or English background • Excellent role models of motivated, organized, and successful college students who believe that the AVID students will succeed too • Meet regularly to discuss student progress and to confer with teacher about future tutorial plans • Ability to effectively communicate with students and school personnel • Ability to perceive students’ needs and develop positive relationships • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions • Ability to think quickly and show patience • Must be available to work Monday through Friday during school hours
