The Laser Machine Operator’s primary function is to operate the Laser machine and ensure proper cutting programs.Job Duties:
What We Are Looking For
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to read/write in English.
- Basic computer skills.
- Familiarity with sheet metal laser cutters preferred but not required.
- Understanding of different types of materials (Mild steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Galvanized steel).
- Problem solving and critical thinking.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to switch focus between projects quickly.
- Must be able to assist in other areas/departments when there is downtime.
- Must be able to work 4pm-3am (Monday-Thursday)
- Must be able to use standard hand tools – Tape measure & thickness gauge.
- Must be flexible – OT and weekends are required as needed.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- 1-2 years manufacturing experience
- 1 year of laser operator experience preferred but not required.
- Forklift experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements – Essential
- Must be in good physical condition.
- Must have good eye/hand coordination.
- Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand and/or bend for long periods of time (Varied based on daily tasks)
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk and/or bend for long periods of time (Varied based on daily tasks)
What We Offer
Compensation: This is an hourly non-exempt role. The starting pay range for this role and market is between $18.00-$24.00/hour. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography/market, and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible to earn overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law).
