What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Marketing position at LendWise Mortgage?
Company Description
Lendwise Mortgage Inc. is a California-based mortgage banking company building a tech-differentiated
lending platform. The company has built production systems around AI document processing, compliance
support, Encompass and Optimal Blue workflows, borrower-facing rate quotes and pre-approvals, secure
uploads, LO recruiting/onboarding, Google review workflows, and Artemis, a portfolio retention engine that monitors funded loans for refinance opportunities. This role is responsible for turning that operational substance into market demand from two audiences: borrowers/realtors looking for a better mortgage experience, and producing loan officers looking for a better
platform.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Calabasas, CA for a Head of Marketing. The Head of Marketing will lead the development and execution of marketing strategies, oversee market research initiatives, manage public relations efforts, and collaborate with the sales team to drive growth. This role requires strategic planning, resource allocation, analysis, and leadership to elevate LendWise's brand presence and marketing success.
Core Responsibilities
Growth Strategy and Positioning
Own the Lendwise messaging framework for borrower acquisition, realtor/referral partner trust, LO
recruiting, and internal LO enablement.
Translate platform advantages into plain language: faster pre-approvals, cleaner files, stronger retention,
pricing competitiveness, marketing support, and real human operations behind the technology.
Define 3-5 recurring content pillars across founder-led content, borrower education, LO recruiting,
market commentary, operational proof, and tasteful industry humor.
Set quarterly campaign priorities by market, channel, audience, and business objective.
Team Leadership
Lead the Content Producer / Video Editor, Performance Marketing SEO Manager, and LO Recruiting
Coordinator / Marketing SDR.
Run the weekly editorial calendar, campaign review, recruiting pipeline review, and Friday executive
report.
Prioritize team workload so urgent creative requests do not crowd out measurable borrower and
recruiting outcomes.
Borrower Acquisition Oversight
Own the borrower acquisition strategy across licensed-state PPC pods, SEO/GEO content, local SEO,
landing pages, review flows, and nurture.
Approve offers, landing pages, ad copy, keyword priorities, and test plans before launch.
Ensure borrower campaigns optimize toward qualified applications, locked loans, funded loans, and
margin, not raw lead volume.
LO Recruiting Funnel Oversight
Define target LO profiles by production volume, geography, company, product mix, and strategic fit.
Own the content sequence and paid amplification strategy that moves LOs from awareness to
founder/CSO conversation.
Review top target accounts weekly and coordinate founder/CSO follow-up strategy.
Compliance and Quality Control
Maintain a documented approval flow for ads, landing pages, email, SMS, videos, captions, social posts,
testimonials, LO profile pages, and co-branded materials.
Coordinate with compliance/legal on TILA/Reg Z, RESPA, Fair Housing, ECOA, CAN-SPAM, TCPA,
NMLS, DRE, DFPI, testimonials, and record retention.
Require NMLS identifiers, Equal Housing language/logos, state disclosures, and rate/fee disclaimers
where applicable.
Required Qualifications
6 years of growth, demand generation, brand, or marketing leadership experience, with at least 2 years
in mortgage, real estate, fintech, SaaS, or regulated financial services.
Hands-on operator capability: you can write, edit, brief creative, read paid campaign performance, shape
a landing page, and work in a CRM.
Strong understanding of borrower acquisition and B2B recruiting/sales enablement funnels.
Working knowledge of mortgage marketing compliance and the judgment to escalate instead of
guessing.
Comfort leading founder-led content, executive narratives, and fast campaign iteration.
Fluency with HubSpot or comparable CRM/automation, GA4, Google Search Console, Google Ads,
LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Meta Ads, and performance dashboards.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience marketing to producing loan officers or building mortgage/real estate recruiting
campaigns.
Experience with Encompass, Optimal Blue, Total Expert, Surefire, Jungo, Homebot, BankingBridge, or
mortgage-specific marketing tools.
Experience managing video-led content teams or founder-led media programs.
LA-area presence and willingness to be in Woodland Hills for production and leadership meetings.
Key Performance Indicators
Qualified borrower leads, completed applications, locked loans, funded loans, and cost per funded loan
by channel.
Qualified LO conversations booked with founder/CSO: 8-12 in first 90 days, 30-40 by 6 months, 75-100
by 12 months.
LOs hired attributable to the marketing/recruiting engine: 1-2 in first 90 days, 4-6 by 6 months, 10-15 by
12 months.
Content shipped vs planned: 95% adherence to weekly calendar.
Compliance incidents: target zero.
