General Statement of Duties
:
To perform precise route coordination, community outreach and recruiting of volunteer drivers, perform food preparation and related work in a county institution; and to perform related work as required.
Supervision Received:
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Cook III.
Supervision Exercised
:
Will supervise those assigned to assist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
An employee in this class may be called upon to do any or all of the following: These examples do not include all of the tasks which an employee may be expected to perform.

Organize daily units for meals delivered and served at each site.
·
Responsible to recruiting, scheduling, educating, and supporting volunteer meal drivers.
·
Daily report and four weeks forecasting of frozen meal count and needs.
·
Communicate client meal pattern adjustments, updated route information, and any additional changes for clients with the Home Delivered Meals Intake Specialist.
·
Assist with meal preparation as directed.
·
Work cooperatively with other members of the kitchen team to efficiently and effectively fulfil the mission and serve the clients of the department.
·
Perform related work as required.
Desirable Education, Experience and/or Qualifications
:
An employee in this class, upon appointment should have the equivalent of the following training, qualifications and/or experience.
·
Graduation from an accredited high school/GED.
·
Familiarity with Lenawee County’s streets and roads.
·
Certification food handlers card every two (2) years as designated by site.
·
Experience preparing accurate written records and reports.
·
Experience working with the public.
·
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions.
·
Experience communicating orally and in writing.
·
Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
Working Conditions and Physical Abilities:
·
Work is both indoor and outdoor and requires frequent changes between both throughout the day.
·
Must be able to lift and carry 30 – 50 pounds a distance of 20 feet several times a day.
·
Must be able to hear and speak over the phone and in one-on-one communication needs.
·
Must be able to see and notice the needs of others.
·
Must be able to push or pull and average of 50 pounds of product on a cart.
·
Must be able to stand on tiled floors 75% of the day.
·
Must be able to reach, bend, or squat several times an hour.
·
Must be able to see and hear information from co-workers and equipment for safety.
·
Must be able to maintain a steady to fast work pace at times.
