Position: Pre-K Teacher
Classification: Part-Time to Full-Time
Reports to: Head of School

Lenawee Christian Ministries provides a Christ-centered education, spiritual development, and wellness services to the Lenawee County community, centered around Jesus Christ.
Position Summary:
The Pre-K Teacher supports the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children aged 3–5 by delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate activities in a safe and nurturing environment. This role includes curriculum implementation, classroom management, and fostering positive relationships with children, families, and staff. This position will start as a 3-day per week assignment with the potential to move to 5-day per week assignment after one year.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum & Instruction
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early learning standards (e.g., state Pre-K guidelines).
- Provide a balance of teacher-led and child-initiated learning, incorporating literacy, numeracy, science, and social skills.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
- Set clear expectations for behavior and promote positive social-emotional development.
- Supervise and guide assistant teachers, interns, or volunteers.
Assessment & Documentation
- Conduct ongoing observations and formal assessments to track student progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation and use data to inform instruction.
- Prepare individual developmental reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
Family & Staff Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with parents through regular communication and updates.
- Collaborate with teaching team and administrative staff to support student success.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development.
Qualifications:
Christian Faith:
- Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
- Adherence to Christian principles and values in both personal and professional life.
Educational Background:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Valid teaching certification from an accredited institution preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
