The Psychiatric Technician is a brand-new role created specifically for this program and plays a vital part in supporting individuals experiencing behavioral health and substance use crises. What You Bring
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of direct patient care experience or equivalent education/certifications
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without accommodation
Preferred
- Phlebotomy Certification
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Experience in crisis, detox, or acute psychiatric settings
- Knowledge of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care
Your Role
As a Psychiatric Technician, you will provide hands‑on support in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity setting at the Bright Path Center, including 3.7 withdrawal management, crisis stabilization, and residential services. Key responsibilities include:
- Monitor patient safety and provide continuous support
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Obtain vital signs, urine drug screens, and perform phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Observe and report changes in patient condition
- Support admissions, discharges, and unit orientation
- Participate in therapeutic activities and structured programming
- Use de-escalation techniques during behavioral crises
- Maintain a clean, safe, trauma-informed environment
- Document care accurately and timely
