Job Summary
Under direct supervision of the Director of Transportation, Transportation Manager, or designee, maintains buildings and grounds in a neat, clean, orderly and secure manner. Orders, receives and verifies the accuracy of invoices to the parts delivered; stocks and maintains the supply/parts room. Performs routine grounds maintenance work around the transportation department offices and other areas of the transportation facilities. Cleans, washes and maintains the motor pool vehicles and buses. Drive a school bus to transport students. Fuels vehicles and buses as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that could provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Education: • High School Diploma or equivalent • Possess a California Class A or B License with a passenger endorsement and a School Bus Driver Certificate; must pass the CHP First Aid Test or have an appropriate Red Cross First Aid card. Experience: • One (1) year of grounds experience and a clear knowledge of inventory systems and transportation parts and supplies. • Six (6) months experience or successful completion of the California Department of Education classroom and behind-the-wheel school bus drivers training course.
