Laborer (Temporary Position)
Alltype Maintenance Corp. is an interior construction company based in Bronx, NY.
We are a growing subcontracting company looking for reliable, hardworking individuals to join our team. We are seeking experienced laborers for apartment rehabs. Must be skilled in residential demolition, transporting material, and site cleaning. Must have your own tools and transportation.
Skilled Job Functions:
- Removes cabinetry, HM doors, HW doors, frames, moldings, wall finishes, ceiling finishes, tile, plaster, flooring, etc.
- Transports material both up & down from floor to floor using stairs and elevator.
- Loads and packs dumpsters with demoed materials quickly and efficiently.
- Is well versed with safe work practices.
- Cleans apartments and hallways multiple times a day and as needed
- Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Cleans all work areas at the end of each day leaving the work site clean and safe for all personnel.
- Works well with others
- Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.
Education & Skills:
1. High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred;
2. Previous related experience in the construction field;
3. Knowledge of materials methods and tools involved in construction;
4. Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations;
5. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing;
6. Ability to use tools and equipment properly and safely;
7. Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl talk and hear.
8. Vision abilities (with correction) including close, distance, peripheral, depth and the ability to adjust focus;
9. Able to work in all weather conditions;
10. The employee will frequently be required to walk, stand, sit, bend, climb, reach and use hands.
11. The employee will occasionally be required crawl, kneel and lift and/or move up to 80 lbs.
Other Requirements:
1. Utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as required by OSHA. PPE required may include, but not be limited to, face shield, hard-toe safety shoes and coveralls.
2. Must be 18 years of age or older.
3. Must pass pre-employment screening .
4. Minimum current 40-hour Site Safety Training (SST).
5. Minimum current 4-hour supported scaffold user certification is preferred.
Job Type:
Temporary, Full-Time – 40 hours/week
Compensation:
- $25 to $30/Hour depending upon experience
- While there is the possibility of periodic public work opportunities at prevailing rates, the likelihood of such work opportunities cannot be determined at this time
Work Authorization:
- United States work authorization required
