What are the responsibilities and job description for the Northern Michigan Sales Representative position at LeMieux Wine Co.?
About us
We’re a fine wine distributor based in Ann Arbor. We work with 75 small, family-run producers from California, Oregon and Europe, and I only bring in wines I’d put up against anything in their category. Our accounts are restaurants, wine bars and independent shops that care about where their wine comes from.
The territory
Traverse City and Leelanau up through Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Charlevoix and Boyne City. There’s an existing book of 40 accounts and plenty of room to grow it.
The job
You’ll be in front of buyers most days. Taste with them, get to know their programs, bring them the right wines and ask for the order. Our ordering platform, Birdie, lets accounts reorder on their own, so your time goes into selling instead of chasing paperwork. You’ll log your tastings and follow-ups in Birdie so we always know where things stand, and you’ll build the orders for each Friday run.
What we're looking for
- At least two years as a wine or spirits rep with a distributor or importer.
- Existing relationships with on- and off-premise accounts up here. Buyers already take your calls.
- A strong working knowledge of Michigan’s three-tier system.
- A Michigan salesperson license, or the ability to get one right away.
- A valid driver’s license and a reliable car.
Pay
Base salary plus commission, based on experience.
To apply
Apply here and tell me a little about where you’ve sold and a few wines you love pouring for people. Your own words are all I’m after.
