Overview
We are seeking a skilled CMM Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control and inspection, utilizing Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure precision and accuracy in manufacturing processes. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of quality assurance in compliance with industry regulations such as AS9100 and ISO 13485.
Duties
- Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for dimensional inspection of manufactured components.
- Perform quality inspections using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings to understand specifications and tolerances.
- Conduct thorough quality control checks to ensure compliance with ASME codes & standards and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of measurements and findings.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide feedback on manufacturing processes and tooling requirements.
- Utilize software such as Calypso and PC-DMIS for data analysis and reporting.
- Apply GD&T principles in inspections to ensure parts meet design specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proficient in operating CMM equipment with experience in programming preferred.
- Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies, including ISO 13485, AS9100, and quality inspection processes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to machining, manufacturing, and tooling practices.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings effectively.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and GD&T principles.
- Solid understanding of math concepts relevant to dimensional inspection.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software is a plus.
