Position Summary
The Leasing Consultant is responsible for providing exceptional service to prospective and current residents while assisting with all aspects of the leasing process. This position plays a key role in maintaining occupancy, ensuring compliance with affordable housing program requirements, and creating a welcoming community for residents.
Responsibilities
- Greet prospective residents and provide professional, informative community tours.
- Process rental applications, lease agreements, renewals, and move-in documentation.
- Verify applicant eligibility and collect required documentation in accordance with affordable housing program guidelines.
- Maintain accurate resident files and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local affordable housing regulations.
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident and prospect inquiries.
- Assist with resident retention efforts, lease renewals, and community events.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure apartments are ready for move-in and resident service requests are addressed.
- Maintain knowledge of current market conditions and community amenities.
- Assist with rent collections and administrative duties as assigned.
- Promote a positive, welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors.
Qualifications
- Previous leasing, customer service, or property management experience preferred.
- Affordable housing experience (LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, or other affordable housing programs) is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with property management software is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
