Job Overview
Chef Mourad Lahlou and Chris Kajioka’s new Honolulu destination, LEILA, is looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about food, beverage, and hospitality to join the culinary team as a Chef de Cuisine.
Chef Mourad is based out of San Francisco and has been widely recognized for Mourad, Aziza, and Moro. Chef Kajioka opened Miro Kaimuki in July of 2020, keeping the essence of the former location in the space, Café Miro.
Qualified individuals should possess a keen attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness. In addition to technical skills of a minimum of 4-5 years of experience, the individual must have a strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to be a team collaborator. Chef Kajioka’s experience is founded on a culture of mentorship and provides a solid foundation of skills to support the culinary profession.
Qualifications
- Qualified individuals should possess a keen attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness
- Individual must have a strong sense of interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to be a team collaborator
- Financial acumen and exposure to profit and loss statements
- Maintain safe, secure, and healthy facility by establishing, following, and enforcing Hawaii sanitation standards and procedures; complying with Department of Health and legal regulations
- Collaborate regularly with ownership, as well as other members of the management team, to develop strategies to manage restaurant financials such as food and beverage costs and labor efficiency
- Appraises staff performance and provides feedback to improve productivity
- Trains, schedules, and delegates work assignments to all Back-of-House department team members including, but not limited to Sous Chef, Line Cooks, and Porters
- A strong understanding of restaurant financials.
