Position Overview
We are a high-end interior design firm specializing in luxury furnishings, lighting, and custom cabinetry. As we expand toward a full-service design-build model, we are seeking a strategic and execution-driven Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, financial performance, vendor coordination, and project systems.
This role will be responsible for building the operational infrastructure necessary to scale into a streamlined, profitable design-build firm.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Oversee day-to-day business operations across design, procurement, logistics, and installation
Develop and implement scalable systems and SOPs
Establish KPIs to monitor profitability, timelines, and operational efficiency
Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements
Financial & Profitability Oversight
Track job costing, margins, and profitability by project
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and vendor pricing structures
Work with ownership to improve gross margins and cash flow
Prepare monthly operational and financial performance reports
Vendor & Supply Chain Management
Oversee purchasing, ordering, and logistics of furniture, lighting, and cabinetry
Manage relationships with high-end vendors and contractors
Negotiate pricing and terms to improve margins
Ensure accuracy in specifications and order execution
Project & Team Management
Coordinate between designers, clients, contractors, and vendors
Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
Implement project management software and tracking systems
Support hiring and team accountability as the firm scales
Transition to Design-Build Model
Assist in building processes for construction coordination
Develop subcontractor systems and documentation
Create standardized contracts and scopes of work
Establish operational structure for in-house build capabilities
Qualifications
5 years experience in operations management (interior design, construction, luxury retail, or related industry
preferred)
Strong financial acumen and understanding of job costing
Experience with procurement and vendor management
Knowledge of project management systems
Highly organized with strong leadership presence
Ability to work directly with ownership in a growth-focused environment
Experience in construction or design-build operations is a strong plus
Compensation
$100,000 annual salary
5% profit sharing (structure to be defined based on net profit benchmarks)
