Position Summary
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring all shipments arrive on time and within budget. This position will monitor and oversee the outgoing and incoming shipping activities to verify items are shipping to the correct location and in good condition.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring all shipments arrive on time and within budget. This position will monitor and oversee the outgoing and incoming shipping activities to verify items are shipping to the correct location and in good condition.
Position Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist all shipping personnel in the preparation and shipping of finished products from the Shelling Plant and Cold Storage.
- Inspect tote bags and pallets before shipping the product and correct any discrepancies found prior to loading.
- Inspect dry trailers, refrigerated trailers, bulk railcars, bulk trucks, and box railcars before loading and correct any deficiencies or reject equipment to be loaded.
- Ensure there are no risks to the product of cross contamination from incoming or outgoing trucks. Inspect all outgoing trucks prior to loading for any issues.
- Inspect and reject trailers that do not meet Olam and customer requirements, ensure proper documentation of all reasons for rejecting.
- Ensure shipping employees are trained on allergens, cross contamination, and proper sanitation techniques.
- Oversee forklift repairs by contracted companies. Ensure outside contractors adhere to all food safety, occupational safety, and preventive control policies.
- Understand and execute the actual loading/shipping process.
- Understand and operate the bulk loading equipment.
- Ensure all shipping documents and seals are correct and in place.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary storage area as described in the Safe Food Plan and Preventive Controls. Maintain records required for the master sanitation schedule.
- Assist the Plant Manager in maintaining the Food Safety, Occupational Safety, and Preventive Controls Plan.
- Understand and operate the oil stock equipment and ensure oil stock numbers are given to Federal/State Inspectors.
- Understand and execute the transfer of lots from one lot number to another.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Five (5) years previous shipping experience is required
- Five (5) years previous forklift experience is required along with valid forklift driving certification
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
- Ability to work well within a team is required.
