Position Summary

Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the Lab Technician II (Inspector) will be responsible for Sampling and testing all finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications.

The ideal candidate will be involved in all aspects of product testing, environmental testing, data entry, test results verification, usage decisions and document retention.

Position Responsibilities

  • Testing all finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications for the following: Defects, Moisture Analysis, Bulk Index, Sieve Tests, Dryer Moisture, Color Analysis.
  • Preparing finished product for microbiological testing to an outside laboratory.
  • Must be able to take immediate corrective action when necessary (identifying and tagging defective product).
  • Record keeping.
  • Data entry from test results in the computer.
  • Will work directly under the QA Work Leader.
  • Other duties deemed necessary by the QA Manager or the QA Lead Person
  • Wear and use all assigned personal protective equipment and wear appropriate work shoes (gloves, eye protection, ear plugs and steel toe footwear/nonslip).
  • This position is not limited to those duties in the job description. Duties and responsibilities can be changed, expanded, reduced, or deleted to meet the business needs of the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Must be accountable and reliable with a good work ethic.
  • Must be able to acceptably communicate in the English language.
  • Ability to learn to use lab equipment including scales, UNITY (moisture analyzer).
  • Good basic math skills.
  • Must work well with others.
  • Able to work overtime if needed.
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends.
  • Able to read, comprehend and work from verbal and written communications.
  • Good people skills.
  • Neat and orderly.
  • Good attendance and work record a must.
  • Self-starter.
  • Must have strong computer skills, experience with SAP preferred.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision.
