Leidos is seeking a Network Installation Technician to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team at Ft. Meade, MD. The DES program is a highly demanding mission and requires expert technical and professional management to support DISA's enterprise Information Technology (IT) services. You will be supporting a large and complex IT migration effort aimed at consolidating Department of Defense (DOD) IT services into single service provider model. This role includes the migration of components and services from DAFA-managed networks to the DoDNet network. Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance Primary Responsibilities: Lead network survey, design and installations under Government direction. Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), cloud networks, servers, and other data communications networks. Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption. Develop network topology and rack elevations using MS Visio. Create detailed Site Survey reports detailing a site's current infrastructure, NIST and TEMPEST compliance, along with design recommendations. Configure, install, test, certify, and troubleshoot network infrastructure cabling. Ensure network cabling and infrastructure is compliant with current NIST and TEMPEST standards. Build and install equipment racks; install, dress, label, and terminate Cat6 and fiber cable in telecommunications rooms. Test and troubleshoot network infrastructure issues on SIPR and NIPR networks. Create accurate reports and documentation to design/certify network infrastructure. Track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed in a timely manner. Develop Bills of Material (BOM) for network plant design requirements. Plan and perform preventive maintenance and scheduled upgrades. Report network infrastructure deployment status to key stakeholders. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s degree with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience; specific years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. Active DoD Secret clearance. Require active DoD IAT Level II (i.e. Security ) certification or equivalent prior to start. Experience documenting logical or physical designs using drawing tools (e.g. Visio, Powerpoint, Gliffy, Cameo, MagicDraw) to depict systems, subsystems, interfaces, components, and communications of I/T applications and infrastructure. Experienced and comfortable with conducting technical troubleshooting to resolve issues. Must have broad exposure to common I/T infrastructure networking in the areas of LAN, WAN, TCP/UDP, IPSec, VPN, Proxies, Routing(L2/L3), and Firewalls. Must have experience in working with two or more of the following vender network technologies: Cisco, Juniper, F5, Aruba, Palo Alto, Dell, Brocade, and Fortinet. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. This shall include drafting SOPs and technical documentation. Come break things (in a good way). Then build them smarter.
