The Defense sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Mechanical Engineer to work in our Leidos Albuquerque Hypersonics office.

Primary Responsibilities

*Design and develop electromechanical assemblies and supporting parts, including: Electronics enclosures and packaging,

mobile platforms, machined and sheet metal parts, 3D printed parts.

* Contribute to program planning, risk mitigation, and requirements development.

* Collaborate with a team of engineers, technicians, and program staff to deliver unique solutions, on time.

* Document and present ideas accurately and concisely at design reviews.

Basic Qualifications

* Master's degree in related field with 10 years of experience or BS degree and 12 years of expereince.

* 5 years of applicable experience or internships

* Mechanical design experience

* 3D CAD and 2D drawing experience

* Hands-on experience with electromechanical systems

* Must possess active DOD S (DOE L) or higher security clearance.

* Candidate must be a resident of or be willing to relocate to the Albuquerque, NM area.

Preferred Qualifications

* SolidWorks or Creo CAD and 2D drawing experience

* Experience working at a DOE facility

* Hands on assembly and test of prototypes

* EPDM and/or Windchill PLM experience

* Static FEA and thermal analysis experience
