Job Summary
PAY: IS DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE
The Wastewater Operator plays a crucial role in the management and treatment of wastewater, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and maintaining the efficiency of treatment processes. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems, collect data, and perform necessary maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum Wastewater Grade 3M and have a strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes. In addition to operating the WWTP the candidate for hire will also be crossed trained in Water Treatment and Water Distribution. The district will pay for all schooling and testing to obtain a Wastewater Grade 4M license and Drinking water license (T2) and a Distribution license (D2). Upon completion of cross training and licensure the candidate will be eligible for a raise and to be on call.
Duties
- Assist in operating and monitoring wastewater treatment facilities to ensure optimal performance.
- Collect and analyze data related to water quality and treatment processes.
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment
- Perform routine inspections of tanks and other equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other departments.
- Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations during all operations.
- Prepare reports on operational activities, including any anomalies or issues encountered.
- Maintenance on Plant equipment
- Ability to be on Call for emergencies
- All other Duties assigned by Supervisor
Experience
- Belt Press - Dewatering
- Previous experience in wastewater treatment or a related field is preferred
- Mechanical Experience preferred
- Strong background in basic math for data analysis and calculations related to wastewater treatment processes.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a logical approach to troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Grade 3M or higher Wastewater License
- SCADA systems
