Lowboy Driver
Leib Heavy Haul is looking for an experienced, dependable Lowboy Driver to join our team.
We are a Montana-based heavy haul company specializing in transporting heavy equipment throughout Montana and surrounding areas. We are looking for someone who understands that lowboy work is more than simply driving from Point A to Point B. It requires experience, good judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to safely load, secure, transport, and unload heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a semi and lowboy trailer
- Load, secure, transport, and unload heavy equipment
- Properly chain and secure loads according to DOT requirements
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Understand oversized and overweight loads and follow permit requirements
- Safely navigate mountain roads, logging roads, winter conditions, construction sites, and tight or challenging locations
- Maintain accurate logs and required paperwork
- Communicate well with dispatch, customers, and other members of our team
- Take care of company equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Be dependable and show up ready to work
Qualifications
- Must be 23 years of age or older for insurance purposes
- Valid Class A CDL with doubles endoresement
- Must have experience and be fully proficient driving an 18-speed manual transmission. This is a required qualification.
- Prefer 5 Years of Hauling Heavy Equipement experience
- Experience loading and securing construction and/or logging equipment
- Clean and safe driving record
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and load securement
- Must be comfortable driving in Montana winter conditions and on logging roads
- Must be able to pass required drug testing, including random drug tests
- Must be dependable, safety-minded, and able to work independently
- Ability to be flexible with hours and changing schedules is important in the heavy haul industry
Pay is dependent upon experience.
