What You Will Do:
We are seeking a highly motivated Optical Design Engineer with a strong background in optics, physics, or related field to join Leia’s Core Technology team and be a part of advancing the next generation of immersive display technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and supporting optical design work as part of Leia’s product roadmap. This role requires a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience in optics, R&D, and problem-solving.
The role will involve using and improving Leia’s proprietary optical simulation SW, working within the Core Tech team to advance and develop new features, as well as interfacing with the production team.
Core Responsibilities:
- generate optimal optical designs through simulations.
- Improve and maintain Leia’s optical simulation software.
- Partner with the production team to analyze optical measurement results.
- Collaborate with team members to advance Leia’s immersive 3D display technology.
Strengths You Will Bring To Our Team:
- 2-3 years working as an Optical Engineer or similar role.
- Bachelor, Master, or Ph.D. in Physics, Optics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in a programming language such as Python or MATLAB.
- Strong understanding of optical principles and systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience with optical simulation tools (e.g., Zemax, LightTools, etc.).
- Experience or familiarity with computer vision methods.
- Experience in a start-up environment strongly preferred.
- Ability travel up to 10% of the time, both domestically and internationally
