Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks and Auris.
- Conduct general ledger accounting activities in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal policies.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, including financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
- Assist with compliance and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
- Utilize accounting systems like QuickBooks for data entry, reporting, and analysis.
- Perform detailed account analysis using Excel data analysis techniques to identify discrepancies or anomalies requiring resolution.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
- Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
Skills
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and technical accounting concepts.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks.
- Experience with payroll systems like Auris (Heartland Payroll)
- Excellent skills in Excel data analysis, spreadsheets management, and accounting system integration.
- Ability to perform account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping efficiently.
- Solid numeracy skills combined with analytical thinking for credit analysis and account analysis tasks.
- Familiarity with internal controls related to SOX compliance and audit readiness procedures.
- Effective communication skills for customer service interactions within finance teams or external auditors.
- Attention to detail in handling sensitive financial data while ensuring accuracy in bookkeeping and financial reporting.
